TITLE: QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL- ADULT

  • Assist consumers with skill building

  • Coordinate with community agencies to carry out the treatment plan

  • Provide direct services as indicated in the treatment plan.

  • Provide support, counseling and education to consumers to assist them in achieving their recovery goals.

  • Assist consumers in accessing available benefits and services.

  • Implement approaches that utilize and enhance consumers’ natural supports.

  • Coordinate service plans with involved family, caregivers, medical, psychiatric and other providers.

  • Utilize motivational interviewing and provides stage appropriate interventions.

  • Maintain all applicable professional, legal and ethical standards, including confidentiality, dual relations, and informed consent.

  • Provide documentation, reports, and records to meet State, Federal, Regional and departmental standards and requirements: Clear, organized, timely progress notes.

  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, community agency meetings and skills training/updates.

  • Complete other assignments and tasks as directed by supervisor and/or Director. 


Minimum Education and Training: (Must meet the following)

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in a human service field or special education from an accredited college without one year of clinical experience.

TITLE: QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL- ADULT

Responsibilities

  • Perform as a team leader for Mental Health Skill Building Services.

  • Provide an array of services to a specialized caseload of consumers, including adult, juvenile, and dual-diagnosis within the community.

  • Coordinate and oversee the initial and ongoing assessment activities of mental health skill building services, including completion of the Comprehensive Individual Service Plan and subsequent revisions. Monitor and implement plan.

  • Coordinate with community agencies to carry out the Individual Service Plan.

  • Provide direct services, as indicated, in the Individual Service Plan.

  • Provide support, counseling and education to consumers to assist them in achieving their recovery goals.

  • Assist consumers in accessing available benefits and services.

  • Implement approaches that utilize and enhance consumers’ natural supports.

  • Coordinate service plans with involved family, caregivers, medical, psychiatric and other providers.

  • Utilize motivational interviewing and provides appropriate interventions.

  • Maintain all applicable professional, legal and ethical standards, including confidentiality, dual relations and informed consent.

  • Supervise paraprofessionals on a daily basis.

  • Provide clinical documentation, reports and records to meet State, Federal, Regional and departmental standards and requirements. Includes, but not limited to:

  • Clinical formulations that clearly direct treatment considerations and focus.

  • Clear documentation for diagnostic assessments.

  • Clear, organized and timely progress notes.

  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Attend staff meetings, as well as community agency meetings as needed.

  • Participate in skills training/updates.

  • Complete other assignments and tasks as directed by the Agency Director or other supervisors


Minimum Education and Training: (Must meet one of the following)

  • A doctor of medicine or osteopathy licensed in Virginia or a doctor of medicine or osteopathy specializing in psychiatry and licensed in Virginia.

  • A master’s degree in psychology from an accredited college or university with at least one year of clinical experience.

  • A bachelor’s degree in human services or related field (social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or other degree deemed equivalent to those described) from an accredited college and with at least three years of clinical experience.

  • A certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Provider (CPRP) registered with the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (USPRA).

  • A registered nurse licensed in Virginia with at least one year of clinical experience.

  • Any other licensed mental health professional
